Answering rules and Do Not Disturb

Answering rules decide what happens when someone calls your extension: which phones ring, for how long, and where the call goes if you don't answer.

Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb sends every call straight to voicemail.

• On your desk phone: dial *78 to turn it on and *79 to turn it off.
• In the portal: edit your active answering rule and check Do Not Disturb.

Ring your desk phone and cell at the same time

1. Log in to the phone portal and open Answering Rules.
2. Click the pencil icon on your active rule.
3. Under Simultaneous Ring, check Include my extension, then add your cell number.
4. Click Save.

Different rules for different times

You can make a rule that only applies at certain times, such as after hours.

1. In Answering Rules, click Add Rule.
2. Pick a Time Frame, for example after hours or weekends.
3. Choose what should happen (Do Not Disturb, forwarding, simultaneous ring).
4. Click Save.

The rule that's in use right now shows a blue Active tag. Drag the arrows to change which rule wins when two overlap.
