Park and pick up a call¶
Parking a call puts the caller on hold in a shared spot, so anyone in your office can pick it up from any phone.
Hold, transfer or park?¶
| What it does | Who can pick it up | |
|---|---|---|
| Hold | Pauses the call on your phone. | Only you. |
| Transfer | Sends the call to another phone. | The person you send it to. See How to transfer a call. |
| Park | Puts the call on hold in a shared parking spot. | Anyone in your office. |
Example: a caller asks for the manager, who is out on the floor. You park the call and announce "Call for Sam on park 1." Sam picks it up from the nearest phone.
Your park numbers¶
PMX sets up park numbers for each organization, and they can be different at each location. Ask your office manager or PMX which numbers your office uses. Your desk phone may already have park buttons set up.
Park a call¶
On a desk phone: while on the call, press Transfer, dial one of your park numbers, and press Transfer again. If your phone has a park button, you can press that instead.
In CloudieConnect: during the call, use the Park option and pick an open parking spot, if call parking is set up for your account.
Pick up a parked call¶
- Desk phone: dial the park number the call is on, or press its park button.
- CloudieConnect: open the call park area of the app and choose the call. If you don't see call park in your app, it may not be set up for your account.
Tip
If a parked call isn't picked up after a while, it usually rings back to the person who parked it, so the caller isn't forgotten.
